Archaeology Notes

ND34NW 51 ND 33359 45685

This disused quarry is situated at the junction of the corners of two cultivated fields 420m NNE of Thrumster House (ND34NW 20.00). Roughly oval on plan, it measures about 12m from NE to SW by 6m transversely and has been dug into the slope on the SE to a depth of 1m. A stone wall crosses the quarry from NW to SE about 5m from the NE end and the interior is partly filled with field-cleared stones.
