Archaeology Notes

ND34SW 438 32247 43320

An old quarry immediately to the W of the dwelling range at Brownaban farmsteading (ND34SW 114) may have provided most of the stone for the construction of the steading. It measures about 57m from N to S by up to 3m in breadth and the working face on the W is up to 1.7m in height at the N end.
