This stock enclosure, which is situated on the hillside at the N shore of the Loch of Grunnavoe, has been recorded on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 2003). The enclosure is divided into a large and two small compartments, as depicted on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1973).

Field Visit (14 June 2010)
Rising above the N shore of the Loch of Grunnavoe, there is a large enclosure with two smaller conjoined enclosures, forming a crude figure of eight, attached to its WNW end. The large enclosure is P-shaped on plan and at its greatest measures internally 70m from ESE to WNW by 28m transversely. Its SSW wall which fronts the edge of the loch still stands up to 2m in height and retains the deep build up of soil within the enclosure; this suggests that the enclosure may at some point have been a kale yard. A gap towards its SSW corner provides access into the ESE of the two conjoining enclosures, with a further gap leading from this enclosure through to the second. The first is subrectangular on plan and measures 8.5m from WNW to ESE by 5.5m overall; the second is oval on plan and measures 8.5m from WNW to ESE by 6.5m overall. All three enclosures are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Shetland 1882, sheet xlvi), where the largest is annotated as a sheepfold.
