Archaeology Notes

ND34SW 321 32376 41381

This possible hut or pen is situated on an E-facing slope about 35m WSW of an empty cottage standing on the W side of the A99(T) public road. The hut measures 3m from N to S by 2.6m transversely overall; its W side is formed from a rock outcrop, but the walls forming the other three sides are reduced to grass-grown footings 0.6m in thickness and up to 0.4m in height. There is an entrance at the S end of the E wall.
