Archaeology Notes

NB54NW 35 5375 4957

The remains of lazy bed cultivation lies across this broad promontory, but one of the lazy beds is more of a stony bank drawn across two rock outcrops on the narrow neck between the steeper slopes to the N and S. This bank may represent an earlier feature, with a possible entrance to the S in a low-lying area between the two rock outcrops, and subsequently used as a lazy bed; its size and location might suggest that this was originally a promontory fort.
