A rectangular slab of stone, measuring 2.6m from NW to SE by 0.3m in thickness and 2m in height, stands on the summit of a low ridge that overlooks Loch Camster from the SW. The stone was erected by John Darmady of Lower Camster in memory of his wife. A small engraved rectangular glass plaque bolted close to the centre of its NE face bears the following inscription, which incorporates a Christian cross motif,: 'Carol Christina Darmady/ nee Obank/ Melbourne/ 19/12/34/ Camster/ 10/8/81/ A Beautiful And Wonderful Lady'.

A slight hollow around the base of the memorial indicates that livestock have been using it as a rubbing-stone.
