Camilty

Down in a wooded bend of Camilty Water, impressive ruin of the eight-bay, 19th-century powder mill, 2ft-thick crosswalls remaining like a deserted cathedral, and haunting policies of vanished Camilty. Weir and falls to the south.

Taken from "West Lothian: An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Stuart Eydmann, Richard Jaques and Charles McKean, 2008. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
