Four dummy gun-emplacements have been identified from RAF vertical air photographs (LEU/UK 4, 7093-7094, flown 17 April 1948), on the N-facing slope of Lyrawa Hill about 150m NW downslope of the genuine gun-emplacements. The four emplacements are constructed of earth as is the dummy command centre.
About 150m to the W is the remains of an earth banked circular enclosure which may possibly have been a light anti-aircraft emplacement. Traces of this were found on the date of visit, though it was not possible to ascertain the exact use to which it had been put.
Visited by RCAHMS (DE), May 1991; Information from RCAHMS (DE), January 2005.
