Archaeology Notes

HY41SE 52.04 46654 14459 and 46714 14480

The concrete and stone No.2 engine room is situated in a field of crops 70m SW of the Battery Observation Post (HY41SE 52.02).

The engine house has a barrel vaulted roof with the N elevation having been built with a 'false' front. The roof has a square raised section presumably to accommodate exhaust extraction equipment.

The building was not entered on the date of visit.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE, GS), August 1999
