NLO: North Head [name: ND 384 507]

Wick [name: ND 362 508]

Wick Bay [name centred ND 376 506].

Wick, 9th Jan., a nameboard marked "MARIE AGNETHE", was found at North head, Wick, on 7th Jan.

Source: Shipping Intelligence, LL, No. 19,569, London, Friday January 12 [1877].

NMRS, MS/829/70 (no. 4578).

The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are essentially arbitrary, being derived from the reported location of discovery of wreckage. The vessel presumably foundered out at sea, possibly beyond Scottish waters.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 21 October 2004.
