NG88NW 12 c. 8157 8956

The W terminal of the WW II anti-submarine boom is situated on the N shore of Sron Meallan a' Ghamhna at Mellangaun.

All that was found on the date of visit was lengths of heavy duty metal hawser and some metal hoops.

Activities

Note (1 April 2022)

Pillbox Study Group report a boom at the entrance of Loch Ewe. The boom anchor point was identifield by RCAHMS in 2000. The boom stretched across from Sron Meallan a' Ghamhna via the small island of Sgeir an Araig to Eilean Rubh A' Choin where Boom anchor points are visible.
