Field Visit (10 August 2005)

The brick, stone and concrete built new High Lighhouse (Stationary White) is situated 30m NW of the old (NO53SW 21.00). It was constructed between 1865-66 and is now out of use. It is situated within the barbed-wire compound of the Army Cadet Training camp. Traces of whitewash can be seen on the brickwork.

The entrance door is on the SE side and the windows look to the SW.

A rotating radar scanner has been added by the Army to the top of the tower along with the associated wiring.
