This enclosure is visible as a cropmark on oblique aerial photographs and lies at the edge of a field about 140m to the S of Inverdunning House. It measures about 15m in diameter and has a broad entrance on the E. At least one large pit can be seen within the S sector of the interior. It is plotted as a possible Class I henge on a distribution map of henge monuments, ring-cairns, pit-circles and recumbent stone circles covering central and eastern Scotland (RCAHMS 1994, 39, fig. A).
Information from RCAHMS (ARG) 17 October 1997.
Aerial photography has recorded the cropmarks of an enclosure and pits 125m S of Inverdunning House. Rectifications (RCAHMS 1994) show a circular ditched enclosure, measuring 19m in diameter within a ditch of 4m width, centred on NO 0264 1597, with an entrance to the NE. A group of pits are scattered across a small area 30m to the NE, and a series of parallel linear cropmarks running WSW-ENE intersecting these features may represent rig and furrow cultivation. Further cropmarks, of an enclosure, ring-ditch and pit-circles, have been recorded in the same field (NO01NW 20, NO01NW 37, NO01NW 60 ).
Information from RCAHMS (KB) 14 May 1999.
Two other groups of pits have been identified by oblique aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 1996) scattered across an area 20m to the SW and 30m NW of the enclosure. Some of these pits may form a pit-circle centred on NO c.0261 1600. The linear cropmarks appear to continue into an adjacent field to the ENE.
Information from RCAHMS (KJ) 20 January 2000.
Scheduled as Inverdunning House, henge.
Information from Historic Scotland, scheduling document dated 23 February 2001.
Two blocks of broad rig and furrow have also been recorded as cropmarks on some photographs (RCAHMSAP 1982).
Information from RCAHMS (OGS) 23 April 2008
