NLO: Cape Wrath [name: NC 256 750].
Glasgow, 7th Sept., the SON OF RECHAB, from Kirkwall, arrived at Stornoway, reports that on the 2nd Sept., between 15 and 20 miles WSW of Cape Wrath, she passed a waterlogged vessel of about 900 to 1,000 tons, very low in the water, with bulwarks gone and the waves washing over her. Parts of two masts, which were of great thickness, were seen lying sternwards along the deck, with topmasts and stays. There was a small funnel, about 12 feet high, standing, supposed to have been used for a condensing or donkey engine. In her present position the derelict is most dangerous to vessels passing Cape Wrath. It is supposed that the tide will carry the wreck to the Orkneys.
