Kirkton of Oyne has traces of several kirks, the ancient is one of two Oynes; the later, railway one, was a station on the GNSR, 1/2 mile to west.

NJ62NE 191 centred 6811 2566

This township comprised a cluster of ten roofed buildings and is depicted on the 1st edition OS 6-inch map (Aberdeenshire 1870, sheet xliv). The majority of the 19th-century cottages shown on the map are still occupied.
