Roman urns containing calcined bones, etc, were found in a field a little NW of Carnbo about 12 years ago when digging for sand.
Name Book 1854.

The find-spot is situated near the top of a natural slope. There is nothing significant on the ground and no further information was obtained from local enquiries.

Excavation (3 April 2018 - 7 June 2018)
Trial Trenching of small field noted for nearby 'Roman Urns' found in 1842 and existing mill leet and mill dam. Two further trenches excavated over mill leets identify both leets as recorded on O.S maps. Surviving timber and stone bank recorded in earliest leet which contained numerous sherds of late 18th C and 19th C glass and pottery. No prehistoric material. Client: Caledonian Trust PLC. Local archaeology supervising body PKHT Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust.
