The walls of the old church of Lude are still standing. Lude was a separate parish at some time before 1632.

New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845

The remains of this church consist of a nave 9.0m long by 6.0m wide a nd a chancel 5.0m long and 4.8m wide. The walls of the chancel are about 1.0m high and are much obscured by debris and nettles; the walls of the nave stand generally to roof height (about 3.0m high), the east gable being almost entire.
