Archaeology Notes

NN95NW 19 9424 5871.

On the E side of the Moulin road within the Hydropathic grounds is a knoll known as "Cnoc dubh", traditionally a site of pagan worship. A stone circle stood here, but the stones are said to have been used to build Balnadrum farmhouse fully 100 years ago.

H Mitchell 1923.

This natural knoll is at NN 9424 5871. The name is no longer known. The greater part of ithas been removed by the construction of a tennis court. There is no trace nor local knowledge of the alleged stone circle.
