There are three sundials at Abercairny: an unusual lectern or facet-head dial, a slate horizontal dial and a brass horizontal dial. The location of the facet-head dial was previously entered at NN 91111 22393, but a desk-based study of collection photographs, and notes in MS 5741/5/2 suggests that this sundial is in fact located towards the north of the East Walled Garden, and that the sundial at NN 91111 22393 is the slate horizontal sundial, NN92SW 25.25. These locations have not been verified in the field, however. (Anne Cassells, 20 August 2009).
