20 January 1882, SWEET HOME, 6 yrs old, not registered, wooden lugger, 3 tons, 5 crew, Master and Owner J. Noble, Katerline [Catterline], Kincardineshire, departed Katerline for fishing, in ballast, 4 lives lost, wind SW6, foundered, total loss, 1.5 mile off Katerline [Catterline], Kincardineshire.

SWEET HOME fishing smack, Noble, while returning from fishing today, was caught by a sudden gust and over-whelmed by the heavy sea when a mile and a half from Cotterline [Catterline] Harbour. The crew of five were thrown into the water. The accident was observed from the shore, and a boat picked up one man, but the others were lost. (Stonehaven, Jan. 20).
