NLO: Craig Laggan or Ebbstone [name: NW 958 692].

Stranraer, 31st Oct. 'The NINUS, Williams, from Falmouth to Glasgow, got on the Ebb Stone, but was assisted off by the MAID OF GALLOWAY (s) with loss of anchor and cable, and proceeded.'

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 8317, London, Tuesday November 3 1840.

NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 7578).

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.
