Archaeology Notes

NN86NE 21 c. 89 65.

(Area NN 89 65) NW of the Sithean (NN86SE 2) are several small burial mounds about 6ft high, all at one time with a cist in the centre. All have been opened and the covers thrown aside, and all are the same shape and size as the cist on top of the Sithean, except one where the stones at head and foot are nearly 3ft high and resemble ordinary tombstones. Near them on the S face of the hill, in heather, is a small cairn with five others round it in a circle not quite equidistant from it or each other.

H Mitchell 1923.
