3 October 1872, SUZERAIN, of Scarboro', 3 yrs old, barque, 392 tons, 12 crew, Owner T. Hick, departed N. Shields for Rio Janeiro, carrying coal, collision, partial loss, 2 lives lost, wind NNW11, about 50 miles N by E of Cape Wrath.
