17 November 1864, PARRSBORO', 25 yrs old, brig, 144 tons, 6 crew, departed Troon for Belfast carrying coal, foundered, total loss, 6 lives lost, wind S7, 1 mile S of the island of Devar [Davaar], Campbeltown.

Campbeltown, 17th Nov. A brig, apparently of between 200 and 300 tons, was seen to go down in Killdalloig Bay, in 16 fathoms water, during a heavy SE gale, this afternoon: 3 men were seen on deck, who must have perished. The lifeboat of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution went out, but no trace of vessel or crew could be found.

Campbeltown, 23rd Nov. From a compass washed ashore from the brig which foundered in Kildalloig Bay 17th Nov., it appears that she was the SPARSBORO (? PARRSBORO), of Belfast.
