Tobermory, 29th Nov. The MARCHIONESS OF BUTE (smack), Black, from Lohnevis, with herrings, foundered off the Point of Ardnamurchan 25th Nov.: crew saved.

(Classified as sloop: no cargo specified, but date of loss cited as 25 November 1859). Marchioness of Bute: this vessel foundered off Ardnamuchan [Ardnamurchan] Point, or was wrecked on Muck.

Registration: Rothesay. Built 1805. 29 tons burthern. Length: 12m. Beam: 3m.
