Tobermory, 20th Mar. The ROYAL VICTORIA (schr.), of and for Belfast, from Loughswilly, drifted off Innishowen Head, and stranded at Scoor Russ [Ross of Mull], Mull, 11th Mar., and is expected to become a total wreck.

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 14,344, London, Saturday March 24 1860.

NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 9832).

(Classified as schooner: no cargo specified but date of loss cited as 11 March 1860). Royal Victoria: this vessel stranded at Scoor Russ [Ross of Mull]. Expected wreck. Registration: Belfast.

(Location of loss cited as N56 17.25 W6 10.0).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The map sheet assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. The location of Scoor Russ cannot be ascertained from the available map evidence, but the name presumably applies to the extensive Ross of Mull.
