Archaeology Notes

NO51SE 62.10 centred 57567 11540

A small group of huts with an emergency water tank are visible on a postwar vertical air photograph (RAF 106G/Scot/UK5, 3203 flown 14 April 1946) W of the entrance track to the airfield from the minor road which runs from Kingsbarns. About ten huts can be seen on the photograph, of which three and the water tank are still shown on the current OS 1:2500 scale digital map.

A further group of seven huts with a water tank are visible about 200m to the SW (centred NO 57436 11387), none of which are shown as standing on the current maps.
