(NN 72629954) Silver Coins found here AD. 1866 (NAT)

OS 6"map, Inverness, 2nd ed., (1903)

Three silver coins, supposed to be the current coin of Mary Queen of Scots were found in 1866 by Paul Grant of Newtonmore during cultivation. The much corroded coins are in the finder's possession.

Name Book 1870.

The coins are now in the possession of Paul Grant's grandson Duncan Grant (D Grant, Craigellachie, Newtonmore, Inverness-shire)
