Architecture Notes

A former brewery taken over by the North British Distillery (nearby in Gorgie) and converted into bonded warehouses. In addition, a tall five-storeyed rubble-built block at the north end of the site had originally contained floor-maltings, but was converted to Saladin boxes to produce malt for the distillery. The remainder of the site was occupied by two three-storeyed brick-built whisky bonds, and a single-storeyed rubble-built bond at along its SW side.
