Endeavour (possibly): a wreck is reported 29.5 degrees 2.8 cables from the S point of Thieves Holm, at cited location N59 0.73 W2 56.33.

The location cited is derived from the alternative location cited by Whittaker, but remains unverified.There is apparently no available account of the remains.
The location of the Kirkwall boom is not specified, but a line between Crow Ness [name: HY 444 124} and Craigiefield [name: HY 456 124] may be suggested. Although not noted as requisitioned by Whittaker, this vessel may have been in service as an examination ship.

Note : Wreck Identified as HMT Endeavour at NGR 345903E 1015708N. Visible remains in the MBES survey have a length on a N-S axis of 36 metres by a width of 33 metres.
Observation of video footage suggests the hull appears to remain fairly intact, with various pieces of wreckage evident on the sea floor. Some parts of the superstructure also seem to remain intact. The sea bed appears to be covered by rock and gravel (SSAQ 2011).
