Archaeology Notes

NN74SE 4 7607 4294.

NN 761 429. A tumulus, 20' by 20', is situated on the N side of the track leading W from the forest to the Acharn burn.

Breadalbane Archaeol Soc 1964

NN 7607 4294. A sharply-defined, turf-covered mound, 6.7m N-S by 6.1m and 1.1m high, situated on a shelf on a N-facing slope. Rock outcrop is exposed for a height of 0.7m on the NE and SW sides of the mound. The mound is composed of earth and stones and would appear to be artifical, thus suggesting that it may be a barrow.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Visited by OS (JB) 10 October 1975
