Source: PP Return of all shipwrecks on the Skerrynore Rock near the island of Tiree or within 20 miles from 1st January 1801.

NMRS, MS/829/67 (no. 631).

Greenock, 15th March. 'The CHARLOTTE KERR, McLean, from the Clyde to Cape de Verd and Grenada, was driven on shore on Killifides, South Uist, 6th instant. Crew saved. The CONFIDENCE, Wesley, from the Clyde to Hayti, was driven on a reef of rocks at Tiree, 7th inst., having previously lost her rudder and mainmast, and the following day broke up.'

Mull, 15th March. 'Part of the cargo of the CONFIDENCE, Wesley, from the Clyde to Hayti, wrecked on the Island of Tyree, has been saved, and a part has since been washed on shore on the Island of Col [Coll].'
