Tobermory, 3rd Dec. The ROBERT MCWILLIAM, Maurice, from Whitehaven, to Quebec, bore up from 51 W, and arrived at Kintra Bay, 29th Nov., where she struck on a sunken rock, slipped small bower chain and anchor, and drove on shore, and is expected to become a wreck. [record received incomplete].

NMRS, MS/829/67 (no. 568).

This loss is not noted by I G Whittaker (1998); the vessel was possibly refloated. The suggested location near Brora (Sutherland) appears anomalous.
