A WW II pillbox, forming part of the coastal defence line of anti-tank blocks which run from NJ 0921 6500 to NJ 0999 6548 along the coast is situated immediately above the high tide level. The pillbox and anti-tank blocks are visible on wartime oblique air photographs (RAF 241F, B12, flown 26 February 1941). The structure is shown on the OS digital 1:2500 scale map.
