2 November 1853, ARVON, of Caernarvon, Newcastle to Galway, foundered, North coast of Applecross, Rosshire, after striking a sunken rock. Crew saved. Shipping and Mercantile Gazette.

NMRS, MS/829/67 (no. 467).

(Classified as wooden schooner: no cargo cited but date of loss cited as 2 November 1853). This vessel 'foundered' [sic.] on the N coast of Applecross, Ross-shire.
