Ross Hall Hospital and Lodge, 197 Crookston Road, 1877
Baronial mansion for James Cowan of Hawkhead. Red sandstone with customary crowstep-gabled main front, conical-roofed circular turrets and extravagant sculptural details. Jacobean interiors and stained glass, some 1886, W & J J Keir. Matching Lodge with conical-capped gatepiers, castellated quadrants and heavy decorative wrought-iron gates. Extension, 1982, Spence & Webster. Shiny glass- and aluminium-clad Ward Block, linked to main building by space-frame canopy.
