1-14 Kirklee Terrace, 1845, Charles Wilson

This magnificent Roman Renaissance palazzo, sitting high above the main road, is one of the grandest terraces in the city, rivalling in scale and position Wilson's own Park Circus of 1855 (see Central Glasgow Guide). Tall centre and end bays, lower links set back. Heavy rustic ground-floor details, corbels support individual first-floor balustraded balconies. Elaborate surrounds to all upper windows.

Taken from "Greater Glasgow: An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Sam Small, 2008. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
