Archaeology Notes

NN70SW 11 c. 7260 0161

An 'as' of Vespasian was reported in December, 1950, to have been found in the garden of Violet Bank, Doune (the house is published on 1st Ed. 25" at NN 7260 0160). The coin belongs to Mr James Kelly, 8 West Cottages, Deanston, Perthshire, but was lent to Mr A M Crichton, McLaren High School, Callander.

A S Robertson 1952.

The approximate find spot, NN 7260 0161, was pointed out by the finder, Mr James Kelly, retired gardener. He has no knowledge of the present whereabouts of the coin or of the exact date of its discovery.
