A stone and concrete built searchlight (DEL) position constructed above a pillbox; is situated at the top of the slope overlooking the A 990, about 7m N of nos 72 and 79 Seatown. There is an external walkway with a steel tubed handrail, between the lower and upper levels. The pillbox on the lower level has three loopholes built into alternate wall faces.

Substantial alterations have been made to this structure, the searchlight position rebuilt with large windows and incorporated into a later built timber building.

Information from Defence of Britain Project recording form, (A Armishaw), 2001

A stone built pillbox and searchlight emplacement is situated at the top of steeply sloping ground in the N part of the Seatown area and overlooking The Yardie area of Buckie.

The pillbox is at the lower level with the seachlight emplacement above. The building has a concrete roof, external balcony with metal handrail and wooden walkway. The whole building has been modified in the postwar period, including alterations to the searchlight platform, new air vents and the addition of a wooden rear wall.
