Archaeology Notes

NN63NE 21 67196 39437.

(Area NN 671 394) A hundred and fifty yards from the standing stone on the farm of Easter Croft-an-tygan (see NN63NE 11) in a direct line between it and the Hotel is a large boulder with six or seven cups.

NN 6720 3943. This boulder, squarish in shape and measuring 2.0m x 2.0m x 1.5m high, bears on its top surface one definite and three possible cup-marks.

These cup marks are of uncertain archaeological significance; they are slight and may be natural.

NN 67196 39437. This erratic boulder, situated in the middle of an improved field, measures 2.1m in length by 1.7m in breadth and 1.7m in height. It bears at least three plain cupmarks (and possibly two others) on its upper surface, each measuring up to 80mm in diameter and 20mm in depth.
