Archaeology Notes

NN59SE 7 55461 93164.

This single span military-style Wade bridge traverses what became a dried-up burn following the diversion of the water course into a specially constructed canal when the Spey was dammed to create a reservoir in 1946. The angle of this bridge, known as the Drochaid A' Bhuilg Bhuidhe, suggests that Wade's road was probably to the S side of the modern road at this point.

W Taylor 1976; J and A Baker 1982.

Visited by OS March 1979.
