NH 710 360 (centre) A desk-based assessment and walkover survey were carried out as part of an environmental statement for the quarry, further to work carried out in 2001 (DES 2001, 53). Two previously unrecorded archaeological sites were revealed: a farm at Mid Lairgs (NH 7140 3645), and an enclosure, clearance cairn and field walls at Allt na Fuar-ghlaic (NH 7097 3572).
