MARTHA ANN. Lerwick, April 4. The MARTHA ANN dandy, of this port, bound for Faroe fishing, with salt, coals, provisions, and fishing gear, parted from her anchors in Brae Voe during a violent gale, March 29, drove on the rocks, had port side knocked in and broken, her hold filling with water to the extent of six feet: no lives lost: vessel expected to become a total wreck: provisions entirely lost: part of the coal and nearly the whole of the fishing gear may be [Record received incomplete].

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Brae Voe is not noted as such on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map. The village of Brae is situated at the head of Busta Voe, and the name presumably applies to this latter feature.
