This site, to the south of The Moorings cafe and restaurant complex, appears to pre-date the construction of The Moorings and is referred to on plans c.1935 for the development. The building appears to have been remodeled by Houston & Dunlop c.1955 for the Castelvecchi family as The Lugano restaurant and bar (ref. www.OldLargs.com for information on this). The building was again worked on by Houston & Dunlop in the 1960s when it was incorporated into The Moorings, and at some point became known as the Oasis Lounge.
