The unlisted Glenburn Parish Church was recorded as part of the Threatened Buildings Survey prompted by the proposed closure of the building and sale of the site for re-development.
Honeyman, Jack & Robertson designed the first church on the site in 1953. A white rendered block, on a tapered plan, with a shallow pitched roof and unusual moulded glass windows. This was designed as a hall church with both a chancel and a stage opening into the main space (see National Record of the Historic Environment ref. HD C39/1/1). It later became the halls for the new church. In 1960 Houston & Dunlop designed a detached sanctuary. This was brick built and square in plan with a dramatic detached copper-clad stiletto spire. (see National Record of the Historic Environment ref. HD C39/1/2).
