Field Visit (17 January 2016)
The wall around the crest of a low natural hillock 240m SSE of the old stables at Cammo House is a plantation wall of late 19th century date, now largely ruinous, which encloses a roughly egg-shaped area measuring 75m from NE to SW by a maximum of 54m transversely close to the broader SW end. The enclosed area contains a low, probably earlier, grass-grown field bank and what may be a shallow quarry from the edge of which a length of ditch extends towards the NW.
Visited by HES Survey and Recording (JRS) 17 January 2016.
Aerial Photography (23 June 2022)
This fort is recorded on oblique aerial photographs(HESAP 2022) as differential parching in grass. This reveals a roughly oval enclosure measuring about 100m from NE to SW by about 60m transversely within a ditch about 5m across. The plantation bank previously described lies within the interior.
