(NN 0496 2338) Crannog (NR).

OS 1:10,000 map, (1975)

About 9 metres of the east shore of Lochan na Gealaich, an accumulation of stones measuring between 6 and 7.6 metres in diameter, and linked to the shore by what appears to be a causeway, has been recorded as a crannog. When visited by the RCAHMS, only a few stones were visible above the loch surface.

RCAHMS 1975, visited 1970; M S Mackay 1969.

Just below the surface of the loch is an artificial island composed entirely of stones. It measures about 10 metres in diameter, falls away steeply at the edge and is reached from the shore by a partially submerged causeway.

Surveyed at 1:10 000 scale.

Visited by OS (R D) 25 November 1969.
