Archaeology Notes

NM92SW 4 9222 2327.

NM 923 234. Cairn encircled with large stones on a small plateau at the confluence of rivers Feochan Beag and Eas-nan-Selleacha.

Nothing is visible on aerial photographs (RAF air photographs CPE/Scot/UK 247: 4144-5; flown 31 July 1947.) at this position. A more likely location would be between the road and the burn to the south.

C Leckie 1968.

Leckie is undoubtedly referring to the remains of a shieling at NM 9222 2327. There is no trace of a burial cairn.

Visited by OS (R D) 15 October 1969.
