Accessing Scotland's Past Project

Dating to around 1863, No 7 Maxwellheugh Terrace is a semi-detached, single-storeyed cottage. As with the other cottages designed by Lady Douglas, No 7 was designed in a rustic or rural style. This includes elements such as the gabled attic dormer directly above the ground-floor bay window, a slated porch above the doorway and barge-boards, decorative pieces of woodwork attached to the gables.
