Berry Head is not noted as such on the 1989 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, and it is not apparent from the map to which of numerous projecting cliffs the name may apply. The Berry is an inland hill at ND 247 907 and Berry Lochs are at ND 242 905. Tor Head [Tor Ness] lighthouse (ND28NE 14) is at ND 2514 8858.

As Canmore
As well as refering to the hill, The Berry is also used for the headland and coastal area immediately to the west of the Berry Lochs on the 2003 1:25000 edition OS map. This corresponds with the location of the wreck as given by the UKHO (OS 2003, UKHO).
Circumstances of Loss
**ON ROCKS AT BERRY HEAD (THE BERRY), HOY. CREW LIFTED TO SAFETY BY HELICOPTER. (LL).
Surveying Details
**2.1.75 ON ROCKS AT BERRY HEAD (THE BERRY), HOY. REGARDED AS TOTAL LOSS. (LL 219).
**H2925/83 21.1.85 NOT FOUND, OR REFERRED TO IN REPORT OF SURVEY. (BUE SUBSEA, HI 204) AMENDED TO DEAD. (UKHO)
The location of the loss, and therefore of the wreck seems to be in some doubt, however, given that the boat went down in 1974, the given position should be reasonably accurate (MKS).
